My niece Lily turned the big FIVE this year, and to celebrate I came up with a set of super special creepy crawly Rainbow of Bugs party decorations. You should have seen her face when she came downstairs to see the family garage transformed into a bright and colorful party space.

we know that a Popcorn bar is a crowd pleaser… this one was paired with this Rainbow of snack cones!

the cup wrappers are one of our “ink saver” items – a small graphic on a white background gives a WOW without all the ink!
cupcake wrappers in every color of the rainbow, frosted with a lavender butter cream frosting-YUM!
the paper chain is also an ink saving item – printed strips interspersed with solid sheets of construction paper. the paper chain can also be used for napkin rings, juice box wrappers or water bottle wraps.
paper lanterns were purchased at a discount store in all the colors of the rainbow, and hung from the ceiling to carry the theme throughout
inexpensive crepe paper was braided and strung around the driveway to keep the kids in the “party” area.
no party is ever complete without some kind of crazy craft project. this one was no exception – plain white headbands were offered to the kids to make their own antennae!
we also had a bubble station
and a coloring / play dough station
AND – get this – a Traveling Bug (and reptile) Show!
