home portrait in watercolor

Ten years ago, my husband and I completed our dream home. It took years of planning, months of construction, buckets of tears (on my part), sleepless nights, and months what seemed like an eternity of living at the in-laws house. It was NOT an easy process. But the end result was this amazing place that we get to call home.

I first noticed on instagram that Kori Clark had started doing watercolor portraits of houses, and I knew I needed one! The timing was perfect for me, as my husband’s birthday was coming up – and with the pride that he has in his home, I knew he would love it.

Kori asked for a photo of the front of the house, and what message I would like to have written below (the year the family was established, the year the home was established or just names of everyone in the family). I chose the year we were married.

I love this painting! I gave it to my husband yesterday – his birthday – and asked if he would like to hang it at home, or take it to work (crossing my fingers for the former). It now lives in his office, so I guess I’ll be calling up Kori again for another portrait!

If you NEED one of these like I did, or maybe it would be a perfect gift for those grandparents who already have everything else, stop by her site and get one. It made my heart happy!
